Who I am…
Hey! I'm Lesley Ramirez, a wife and mama of 2 little girls, living in sunny San Diego, CA. I love oat milk lattes and I have a slight reality TV addiction.
I've always been a multi-passionate creative, from painting to other artistic pursuits… but after discovering knitted wire art, it just clicked. Now I’m here, turning wire and rope into awesome stuff and teaching YOU to do the same! Names, flowers, stars, even rocket ships - you name it!
What does Isla Sierra Co mean?
It’s a blend of my daughters' names, Isla and Sierra. Their names came together so beautifully, I knew it had to be the name of my business! (Isla is pronounced “EYE-lah.”)
Where it all began…
My daughters' room needed a makeover, summer of 2022. I was looking around for unique, renter-friendly decor to make their walls less boring. Little did I know, my quest for cute decor would turn into a full-blown creative awakening! That’s when the knitted wire discovery came in!
I started by making custom names for friends and family, and... well, it took off! Maybe it's the perfectionist artist in me, but people seem to dig the precision of my wire designs. I definitely didn’t see that coming! And let me just say, I did NOT become a wire-bending expert overnight. There were definitely some... interesting bends in the learning process (and maybe a few wasted materials!) But hey, persistence paid off!

Why I do this…
Knitted wire is my happy place. It's a way to unwind, express myself, and create something beautiful. It's literally become a self-care session in a way, and I can't get enough! New designs keep me up at night (in the best way!), and I love sharing this feeling with other like minded crafters.
My mission? To spread the knitted wire love, whether you want unique decor or want to learn how to make it yourself. This craft is THAT awesome, and the community that's grown around it is incredible. Welcome aboard!
